What Is the Difference Between Mushrooms and Cannabis? A Comparative Exploration

In the realm of natural substances with potential wellness benefits, mushrooms and cannabis stand out as intriguing and enigmatic options. While both have captured human interest for centuries, they are distinct in their properties, effects, and uses. In this blog, we'll embark on a comparative journey to unravel the differences between mushrooms and cannabis, shedding light on their unique characteristics and exploring how they each contribute to the tapestry of holistic well-being.

Origins and Botanical Identity:

Mushrooms and cannabis come from vastly different biological kingdoms. Mushrooms, also known as fungi, belong to their own unique kingdom, separate from plants. They thrive in diverse ecosystems, often serving as decomposers and symbiotic partners to various plants. On the other hand, cannabis is a flowering plant that has been cultivated for its various compounds, including cannabinoids like THC and CBD.

Chemical Composition and Effects:

One of the most significant differences between mushrooms and cannabis lies in their chemical composition and the effects they induce. Mushrooms, specifically certain species like Psilocybe  cubensis, contain compounds such as psilocybin, which can lead to altered perceptions, mystical experiences, and introspective journeys commonly referred to as "trips." Cannabis, on the other hand, contains cannabinoids like THC, which can induce relaxation, euphoria, altered sensory perception, and in some cases, heightened creativity.

Medical and Therapeutic Uses:

Both mushrooms and cannabis have shown promise in the realm of wellness, albeit through different avenues. Cannabis has gained recognition for its potential medical applications, particularly in managing pain, nausea, and certain neurological disorders. Cannabidiol (CBD), a non-psychoactive compound found in cannabis, has garnered attention for its potential antiinflammatory and anxiolytic properties. Mushrooms, particularly those containing psilocybin, have been studied for their potential to address mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Recent research suggests that controlled and supervised psilocybin experiences could lead to transformative therapeutic outcomes.

Legality and Societal Perceptions:

One of the starkest contrasts between mushrooms and cannabis lies in their legal status and societal perceptions. While cannabis legalisation has been a topic of evolving discourse and action across the globe, mushrooms containing psilocybin remain illegal in many jurisdictions. However, there is a growing movement to reconsider the legal status of psilocybin mushrooms for therapeutic and spiritual purposes.

Cultural and Spiritual Significance:

Mushrooms and cannabis have rich cultural and spiritual histories that differ across various societies. Cannabis has been used ceremonially and recreationally in different cultures throughout history, playing a role in religious practices and artistic expression. In contrast, mushrooms have been revered by indigenous cultures for their spiritual insights and connection to nature, often used in sacred rituals for their potential to induce altered states of consciousness.

Navigating Personal Choices:

In your journey towards holistic well-being, understanding the differences between mushrooms and cannabis is essential for making informed decisions. While both offer unique experiences and potential benefits, it's crucial to approach them with mindfulness, respect, and a commitment to responsible use. Consulting with medical professionals and experts in the field can provide you with the guidance needed to navigate these substances safely and effectively.

Doctor Herb: Your Source of Informed Wellness:

While Doctor Herb primarily focuses on CBD products, we acknowledge the broader landscape of natural substances and their potential roles in well-being. As you explore the differences between mushrooms and cannabis, we encourage you to prioritize knowledge, respect for cultural contexts, and a commitment to your individual wellness journey. In conclusion, mushrooms and cannabis are two captivating natural entities, each with its own istinct properties, effects, and cultural significance. By delving into their differences, you can gain a deeper understanding of their potential roles in your pursuit of holistic well-being, guided by awareness, education, and a respect for the complexities of nature's offerings

Which Countries Is It Legal to Purchase THC? Navigating Global Cannabis Laws

The legalisation of THC, the psychoactive compound found in cannabis, has been a subject of significant debate and change on a global scale. As attitudes towards cannabis continue to evolve, different countries have taken varied approaches to its legality. In this blog, we'll delve into the complex landscape of THC legality around the world, shedding light on the countries where purchasing THC is legal and exploring the factors that influence these decisions.

The Changing Tide of THC Legalisation:

Over the past few decades, a growing number of countries have begun to reconsider their stance on THC. While the specifics vary greatly, a common thread has emerged: an increasing recognition of cannabis's potential medical and recreational benefits. This shifting perspective has prompted some nations to adopt more lenient policies, allowing their citizens to access THC for therapeutic and recreational purposes.

Countries Where Purchasing THC is Legal:
1. Canada: A pioneer in cannabis legalisation, Canada permits the purchase of THC products for both medical and recreational use. Licensed dispensaries provide a variety of options, from THC-rich flowers to edibles and concentrates.

2. Uruguay: Often cited as the first country to fully legalise cannabis, Uruguay allows individuals to purchase THC products from state-licensed pharmacies.

3. Netherlands: While THC is not fully legal in the Netherlands, the country has established a famous tolerance policy. In specific designated areas, such as coffee shops, adults can purchase and consume limited amounts of cannabis, including THC-rich products.

4. Israel: Israel has a long history of cannabis research and medicinal use. It permits the purchase of THC products for medical purposes, and research initiatives continue to explore its potential benefits.

5. Jamaica: Known for its association with cannabis culture, Jamaica has decriminalised possession of small amounts of cannabis, including THC-rich varieties. It allows adults to purchase and consume cannabis for personal use.

6. Switzerland: While not fully legal, Switzerland has taken a pragmatic approach to THC. The purchase and consumption of cannabis with a THC content below 1% are tolerated, creating a unique market for low-THC products.

7. Luxembourg: Although full legalisation is in progress, Luxembourg has decriminalised possession of small amounts of cannabis and is moving towards a regulated market where THC products will be available for purchase.

Factors Influencing THC Legalisation:

1. Medical Benefits: Many countries that legalise THC do so in recognition of its potential medical benefits. Scientific research highlighting its efficacy in treating various conditions, such as chronic pain and epilepsy, often plays a significant role in influencing policy changes.

2. Economic Opportunities: The cannabis industry presents economic prospects through taxation and job creation. Legalising THC can stimulate economic growth and provide governments with additional revenue streams.

3. Public Opinion: Shifting public attitudes towards cannabis have prompted lawmakers to reconsider their stance on THC. As more individuals recognise the potential benefits and relatively low risks associated with responsible THC use, the push for legalisation gains momentum.

Navigating the Legal Landscape:
While the countries mentioned above have legalised THC to varying degrees, it's essential to emphasise that cannabis laws are subject to change and interpretation. Before purchasing or using THC products, it's crucial to thoroughly research and understand the laws in your specific country or region. Consulting local authorities and reputable sources can provide valuable insights into the legal status of THC where you  reside.

Doctor Herb: Your Informed Partner:
At Doctor Herb, we prioritise responsible and informed cannabis use. Our commitment to transparency extends beyond product quality to helping you navigate the intricate legal landscape. While our focus is primarily on CBD products, we acknowledge the evolving nature of cannabis laws and are dedicated to providing accurate information to empower your wellness decisions. In conclusion, the question of where purchasing THC is legal is a multifaceted one, shaped by a combination of medical, economic, and societal factors. As global attitudes towards cannabis continue to shift, individuals seeking access to THC should stay informed about the laws in their respective countries. With a commitment to knowledge and responsible consumption, you can make choices that align with your values and contribute to your holistic well-being.

CBD vs THC: Navigating the Differences and Embracing Holistic Wellness
In the ever-expanding realm of natural wellness, two acronyms have been making waves: CBD and THC. These compounds, both derived from the cannabis plant, have garnered significant attention for their potential health benefits. However, they offer distinct experiences and effects. In this blog, we’ll dive into the world of CBD vs THC, unraveling their differences, and exploring how these compounds can play a role in your pursuit of holistic well-being.

Understanding CBD and THC:
CBD, short for cannabidiol, and THC, or delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, are two of the most well-known compounds found in cannabis. Despite their shared origin, they have remarkably different effects on the body and mind. While both interact with the endocannabinoid system, which helps regulate various physiological processes, their interactions lead to contrasting outcomes.

CBD: The Calming Companion:
CBD has garnered attention for its potential to provide a sense of calm and relaxation without the psychoactive effects typically associated with cannabis. Many individuals turn to CBD products, such as Doctor Herb’s CBD flowers, for relief from stress, anxiety, and even minor aches. Its non-intoxicating nature makes it an attractive option for those seeking natural remedies that can be seamlessly integrated into daily routines.

THC: The Psychoactive Player:
THC, on the other hand, is known for its psychoactive properties that can induce a “high.” It binds to cannabinoid receptors in the brain, leading to altered perceptions and sensations. While THC has its own array of potential benefits, such as pain relief and euphoria, it’s important to approach it with caution due to its mind-altering effects.

Balancing Act: CBD and THC Together:
The interplay between CBD and THC has sparked interest in their combined potential. The “entourage effect” suggests that the presence of various cannabis compounds, including CBD and THC, may enhance each other’s therapeutic effects. Doctor Herb’s carefully curated blends harness this potential, offering products that incorporate both CBD and trace amounts of THC for a well-rounded wellness experience.

Choosing Your Path to Wellness:
The decision between CBD and THC ultimately hinges on your individual wellness goals and comfort level. Doctor Herb understands that each person’s journey is unique, which is why we offer a diverse range of products catering to different preferences. Whether you’re seeking the calming embrace of CBD or exploring the nuanced effects of THC, Doctor Herb’s offerings provide a roadmap for your holistic wellness exploration.

Navigating Legal and Ethical Considerations:
Another important aspect to consider when discussing CBD and THC is the legal and ethical landscape. While CBD is widely available and legal in many regions, THC’s legal status can vary significantly. It’s crucial to be aware of local regulations and to make informed decisions in line with your values and the laws of your area.

Joint pain is a common condition that affects millions of people worldwide. It can be caused by a variety of factors, including injury, arthritis, and inflammation. While traditional treatments for joint pain include medications and physical therapy, CBD has emerged as a promising alternative. In this blog, we’ll explore the question: does CBD help joint pains?

What is CBD?
CBD, or cannabidiol, is a compound found in the cannabis plant. Unlike THC, another compound found in cannabis, CBD is non-psychoactive, meaning it won’t make you feel “high”. CBD is known for its potential therapeutic benefits, including reducing inflammation and pain.

How Does CBD Help Joint Pain?
CBD has been shown to interact with the body’s endocannabinoid system, which plays a role in regulating pain and inflammation. When CBD is ingested or applied topically, it interacts with the endocannabinoid receptors in the body, helping to reduce inflammation and alleviate pain.

In addition to its interactions with the endocannabinoid system, CBD has been shown to have other potential benefits for joint pain. For example, a study published in the European Journal of Pain found that CBD was effective in reducing pain and inflammation in rats with arthritis. Another study published in the Journal of Experimental Medicine found that CBD reduced inflammation and pain in mice with osteoarthritis.

What Types of CBD Products Can Help with Joint Pain?
There are a variety of CBD products on the market that may be helpful for joint pain, including:

1. CBD Topicals
CBD topicals, such as creams, lotions, and balms, are applied directly to the skin and can provide targeted relief for joint pain. When applied topically, CBD can penetrate the skin and interact with the endocannabinoid receptors in the area, reducing inflammation and alleviating pain.

2. CBD Tinctures
CBD tinctures are taken orally and can provide systemic relief for joint pain. When taken orally, CBD is absorbed into the bloodstream and interacts with the endocannabinoid receptors throughout the body. This can help reduce inflammation and alleviate pain in the joints.

3. CBD Capsules
CBD capsules are another option for those looking for systemic relief for joint pain. Like CBD tinctures, CBD capsules are taken orally and absorbed into the bloodstream. This can help reduce inflammation and alleviate pain throughout the body, including in the joints.

4. CBD Edibles
CBD edibles, such as gummies or chocolate, are a tasty way to incorporate CBD into your daily routine. When ingested, CBD is absorbed into the bloodstream and interacts with the endocannabinoid receptors throughout the body. This can help reduce inflammation and alleviate pain in the joints.
Conclusion

While more research is needed to fully understand the effects of CBD on joint pain, early studies suggest that CBD has potential as a natural alternative to traditional treatments. By interacting with the body’s endocannabinoid system, CBD can help reduce inflammation and alleviate pain in the joints. Whether you prefer CBD topicals, tinctures, capsules, or edibles, there are a variety of products on the market that may be helpful for joint pain. However, it’s important to choose high-quality CBD products that have been third-party tested for purity and potency. Additionally, it’s always a good idea to consult with a healthcare professional before starting any new supplement regimen. With the right products and guidance, CBD can be a valuable tool for anyone looking to manage joint pain and improve their quality of life.

Additionally, it’s always a good idea to consult with a healthcare professional before starting any new supplement regimen. With the right market leading CBD fitness brands products and guidance, CBD can be a valuable tool for anyone looking to overcome muscle fatigue and achieve their fitness goals.

In recent years, there has been a significant shift in attitude towards CBD in the Western world. CBD or cannabidiol is a natural compound found in the cannabis plant that is known for its therapeutic benefits. It has gained popularity as a natural remedy for a variety of ailments, including anxiety, pain, and insomnia. However, for a long time, CBD was stigmatized due to its association with marijuana and the negative connotations surrounding the plant. In this blog, we will explore how the attitude towards CBD has changed in the Western world.

The legalization of medical and recreational cannabis in many US states and countries has played a significant role in changing attitudes towards CBD. As more people have become aware of the potential benefits of CBD, it has become increasingly popular as a natural remedy. In 2018, the US Farm Bill legalized hemp-derived CBD, which opened up the market for CBD products.

The media has also played a role in changing attitudes towards CBD. There has been a significant increase in coverage of CBD in the media, and many celebrities have endorsed the use of CBD. This has helped to break down the stigma associated with CBD and increase its mainstream acceptance.

In addition to the media, scientific research has also played a significant role in changing attitudes towards CBD. There have been numerous studies on the potential benefits of CBD, and many of them have shown promising results. As more scientific evidence becomes available, people are becoming more accepting of CBD as a natural remedy.

Another factor that has contributed to changing attitudes towards CBD is the increasing demand for natural remedies. Many people are looking for natural alternatives to traditional medicine, and CBD fits the bill. CBD is a natural compound that is non-addictive and has few side effects, making it an attractive option for those looking to improve their health and wellbeing.

As the popularity of CBD has grown, so too has the number of products available on the market. CBD is now available in a variety of forms, including oils, tinctures, capsules, and edibles. This has made it easier for people to incorporate CBD into their daily routines and has increased its accessibility.

There has also been a shift in attitude towards CBD in the medical community. While CBD is not a cure-all, many doctors are now more open to the idea of using CBD as a complementary treatment for certain conditions. For example, some doctors recommend CBD for patients with anxiety or chronic pain.

Overall, the attitude towards CBD in the Western world has changed significantly in recent times. CBD is now more widely accepted as a natural remedy, and there is growing scientific evidence to support its potential benefits. With the increasing demand for natural remedies and the legalization of cannabis in many states and countries, it is likely that the popularity of CBD will continue to grow in the coming years.

Strongest CBD and CBG Oil on the Market

Our [new CBD and CBG oils] are the strongest on the market. We offer 10ml bottles of CBD oil that contain 5000mg of CBD. This means that they are 50% CBD. Our 10ml bottles of CBG oil contain 4000mg of CBG, so they are 40% CBG.

Researchers believe that CBD may have numerous benefits, including relieving pain, anxiety and depression. Studies have shown that CBG works to enhance pleasure and motivation and regulate appetite and sleep.

The benefits of both cannabinoids are enhanced when they are combined. This means that taking CBD and CBG oil at the same time allows the two cannabinoids to work in synergy, providing an optimised effect. Using the strongest oils on the market will heighten this result. These oils can both be bought at wholesale price.

Have you ever wondered why CBD oil is so expensive? There are several factors that contribute to the price, from the production process to all the legal red tape that must be jumped through. In the end, high quality products are worth the price. In this blog, we have explained some of the reasons that CBD oil is expensive.

High Demand

The first reason that CBD oil is expensive is simply because it is in high demand. Selling this product was only legalised very recently, meaning that we have entered into something of a CBD oil craze.

Research has suggested that hemp oil has numerous benefits, from regulating sleep patterns to treating anxiety disorders. People want to reap the benefits of this new holistic health product and high demand means high prices.

Production

As CBD oil becomes more popular, more farmers are switching over from cultivating other crops to cultivating hemp plants. However, this transition is relatively recent and it is a slow process. Hemp plants must be more frequently regulated compared to other crops. Farmers may need to hire additional workers, meaning production becomes more expensive.

In addition to time and labour, hemp plant cultivation requires specialist equipment, which can be costly to purchase and maintain. Combine harvesters, for example, are necessary for growing hemp plants outside. To achieve an organic certificate, fields and farms are subject to regular checks and harvesting practices must be approved. The whole production process drives up the price of CBD oil.

Extraction

Once the hemp plants have been harvested, the CBD must be extracted. This process is difficult and requires skilled workers and expensive equipment so that the THC can be removed, while the CBD and other cannabinoids are preserved.

The most efficient method for extracting CBD is supercritical CO2 extraction. This method is the gold standard for CBD extraction, as it ensures that the final product contains no harmful solvents. However, this form of extraction is also very expensive and there are a limited number of facilities that are able to carry out this process.

Legal Requirements

The legal status of CBD cultivation is complicated in the UK. Currently, it is not legal for CBD to be extracted from hemp plants that are grown in this country. This means that oils must be imported from across the world, mostly from Europe and the US. The cost of transport, as well as ensuring the products are imported legally, is high.

Independent Lab Testing

Third party testing is necessary for ensuring that CBD oil is of high quality. Third party labs carry out potency testing, terpene level testing and solvent contamination testing. They also test for safety. This ensures that no moulds, pathogens, heavy metals or pesticides contaminate any of our products before or after they are made. This process, while necessary, is not cheap.

At Doctor Herb, we are committed to providing the highest quality CBD oil. This means we carry out rigorous testing before our oils are approved.

There is a great deal of confusion regarding the distinction between CBD and hemp oil, mainly because CBD oil is often erroneously referred to as hemp oil. While both oils come from the hemp plant, a variant of the cannabis sativa plant, hemp oil is extracted from the seeds, while CBD oil is extracted from the leaves, stalk and flowers.

The extracted oils therefore have different effects, strengths and benefits. In this blog, we will describe the key differences between CBD oil and hemp oil.

Hemp Oil

Hemp oil, or hemp seed oil, is a fatty oil that is extracted from hemp seeds and has a nutty flavour. This oil is high in omega fatty acids, as well as gamma-linolenic acid and nutritious antioxidant content. Importantly, hemp seed oil contains little to no tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) or CBD. The amount depends on the way the seeds are handled and processed. Strict guidelines ensure that commercial hemp seed oil must contain 0.3% THC or less.

Since hemp oil is high in nutrients, it has numerous health benefits. For example, it is high in omega-3 fatty acids, which are good for your heart. These fatty acids improve heart health by lowering blood pressure, reducing blood clotting and reducing the risk of strokes or heart failure.

Some researchers argue that hemp oils can aid cardiovascular health by improving total cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, low- density lipoprotein cholesterol and triglycerides. However, this has not been proven.

Potential Benefits

As well as improving heart health, hemp oil has several other potential benefits. These include relieving constipation, modifying the immune system, improve skin conditions and improving gastrointestinal conditions. It has even been argued that hemp seed oil has anticancer effect, antioxidant effects and anti-aging effects. Of course, none of this is confirmed.

CBD Oil

CBD oil is taken from the leaves, stalk and flowers of the cannabis sativa plant. As the name suggests, the oil is high in CBD, which is a non-psychoactive isomer of THC. In other words, the consumption of CBD will not result in a ‘high’ sensation. Commercial CBD oils contain different amounts of CBD so it is important to check the product description.

How it Works

Further research is needed to determine how CBD affects the body, however most researchers agree that CBD help to stabilise the body’s homeostasis.

Cannabinoids interact with the body’s central regulatory system, activating two of its core receptors, CB1 and CB2. These receptors regulate mood, temperature, cognitive function and muscle repair. CBD also helps to manage several bodily processes, such as appetite, mood, memory and sleep.

Potential Benefits

Preliminary research suggests that CBD oil can be used to improve chronic pain, inflammation, digestive health and skin health. It may also aid the treatment of epilepsy, anxiety disorders, psychiatric and neurologic conditions, insomnia and cancer. However, more research is needed.

Should I Buy CBD Oil or Hemp Oil?

The answer to this question is dependent on the specific person and their needs. Due to its high level of omega acids, hemp oil is often used for skincare and cooking. In comparison, CBD oil is primarily used by people seeking to improve health concerns. If in doubt, consult a GP or pharmacist to discuss which oil is best for you.

The consumption of cannabis has been decriminalised in varying degrees across the globe. Some countries allow medical use but not recreational use, for example. In other countries, it is technically illegal to use cannabis for personal use, but the act has been decriminalised, meaning offenders will not face harsh penalties.

There is a common myth that the consumption of cannabis is legalised in the Netherlands, but it is in fact only decriminalised. Nevertheless, visitors are able to obtain cannabis based products from certain coffee shops, where they are sold openly. This list provides a scale of the countries where cannabis has been decriminalised, from those where it is completely legal, to those where there are only mild penalties due to decriminalisation.

  1. Canada

In 2001, the Canadian government legalised cannabis for medical purposes and in 2018, the legalisation was extended to recreational use. In 2019, it became legal to sell edibles. The government is still strict on packaging, meaning products must appear more subdued. This is likely an effort to make the products less attractive to underage people.

The minimum age to buy cannabis varies across the country from 18 to 21. If you are over the minimum age, it is legal to possess up to 30 grams of cannabis. The rule applies to visitors as well.

  1. Uruguay

Cannabis is legal for both medical and recreational use in Uruguay. In fact, it was the first country to completely legalise cannabis consumption, with the law being passed in 2013. It is legal for Uruguayan citizens and residents who are over the age of 18 to buy up to 40 grams per month.

All Uruguayans have to do is register with the government. Then they can grow their own cannabis or buy it from an authorised pharmacy. Bad news for tourists, though- you cannot legally buy or sell cannabis in Uruguay unless you are a resident or citizen.

  1. United States

The rules surrounding the consumption of cannabis in the United States are tricky. While both medical and recreational use are illegal at a federal level, multiple states have legalised both uses.

Thirty eight states have legalised medical use, while nineteen have legalised recreational use. These include New York, Washington and California, to name a few. If you’re visiting the US as a tourist you should be mindful of which state you’re in and how heavily cannabis has been decriminalised there.

  1. South Africa

Cannabis consumption is not illegal in South Africa but it is decriminalised. The plant, known as dagga in Afrikaans, has been decriminalised for private use. This means it can be possessed or grown in private spaces. However, it is federally illegal, meaning that buying, selling or consuming cannabis is public spaces could result in jail time. It is also illegal to consume cannabis around minors or adults who have not consented.

  1. The Netherlands

The Netherlands, and Amsterdam in particular, has become a global hotspot for cannabis tourism. Cannabis is not legal in the country; however, it is highly decriminalised. While it is illegal to grow, possess or sell cannabis, some coffee shops have been allowed to sell it, as per the country’s policy of toleration. Residents are permitted to possess 5 grams of cannabis.

Despite the toleration policy being technically restricted to residents of the Netherlands, enforcement of this rule is not particularly common. However, following the pandemic, the government has been pushing to rebrand the country from its drug tourism reputation. This means that non-European Union visitors might soon be banned from consuming cannabis in coffee shops.

Cannabis is produced in almost all countries around the world. However, the sale and consumption of cannabis is illegal in most countries. Uruguay and Canada are the only two countries that have fully legalised the recreational use of cannabis nationwide. This means that the information on where the plant is grown and harvested is not readily available. This list is based on data collected by the United Nations annual World Drug Report.

Morocco

While there is debate, most researchers agree that Morocco is the largest producer of cannabis in the world. The World Drug Report of 2017 stated that 47,000 hectares in Morocco are used for cannabis cultivation. This is more than three times the second frontrunner.

Cannabis has been grown in Morocco for centuries, as the plant responds well to the fertile soil of the mountainous Rif region. While cannabis is illegal in this country, the criminalisation of its production is decreasing due to a recognition that its sale contributes greatly to the economy.

Mexico

Mexico has a long history of cannabis cultivation, as the plant was introduced to the country by the Spanish in the sixteenth century. The word ‘marijuana’ actually originated from Mexico.

The consumption of cannabis is very normalised in Mexico, as the government formally decriminalised the possession of up to five grams in 2009. The possession of small amounts of cocaine and heroin for personal use were also decriminalised in order to treat addiction as a public health issue rather than a criminal offence.

Afghanistan

The cannabis Indica plant is native to Afghanistan, as well as India, so the plant has been cultivated in the region for centuries. In the 1970s Afghanistan became a popular destination for hippies looking to consume cannabis.

By 2010, the country produced the most cannabis in the world, with 20,000 hectares used for cultivation. It has since been surpassed and the Taliban has used cannabis cultivation as a source of revenue.

Paraguay

One of the largest cultivators of cannabis in South America, Paraguay exports cannabis to countries across the continent for a very low price. In these cases, the quality of the product is often low and can be toxic. The use of cannabis is demonised by the general population, who refer to the plant as ‘hierba maldita’ (‘demon weed’).

However, in 2019, the cultivation of industrial hemp was legalised and Paraguay began to legally export medical cannabis to the United States, Canada, Australia and Europe.

India

Cannabis Indica is native to India and was named after the country. In India, as well as China, Nepal and Tibet, cannabis can grow in the wild, without formal cultivation. For approximately 4,000 years, people in India have been using the plant in cannabis preparations such as charas (resin), ganja (flower), and bhang (seeds and leaves).

In 2019, it was reported that India was the country with the largest number of consumers, with an estimated 31 million people using cannabis. In 2016, it was reported that the price of cannabis in India was the lowest of any country in the world.

At Doctor Herb, we care about making sure our customers have access to the CBD products that are best for them. If it is your first time buying from us, or even if you want to change it up a bit, we know it can be difficult to decide what product to go for. That’s why we’ve done the research for you!

While it has been found that ingesting CBD will have a calming effect whether it is smoked, vaped or eaten, there are some things to consider when deciding on the method that is right for you. We have created a list of the specific effects of each of our products, so that you can decide for yourself. Here’s what we found.

Smoking- CBD Flowers and Resin

Inhaling CBD is one of the fastest ways to feel the plant’s effect. CBD quickly absorbs into the bloodstream and is then carried from your lungs directly to your brain. Effects are generally felt within 30 seconds. This also means that the effects can feel stronger. The process is so direct that there is little opportunity for your body to filter out any of the CBD. The effects of smoking CBD flowers or resin tend to last for 30-60 minutes. If you want to have a longer lasting result, you will have to smoke more regularly.

Do smoke CBD flowers or resin if you want an immediate, relatively strong result.

Don’t smoke CBD flowers or resin if you want a slower, more long-lasting effect.

Vaping- CBD Oils

Studies have shown that CBD is best absorbed when it is vaporised. This is because vapour absorbs into your lungs better than smoke. Inhaling CBD by vaping therefore allows your body to absorb the highest percentage of CBD from the amount you have bought. There is also research that indicates that vaping CBD helps people to quit smoking.

Do vape with CBD oils if you prefer not to inhale smoke or if you want to the best bioavailability.

Don’t vape with CBD oils if you prefer a more natural experience.

Eating- CBD Edibles

For CBD in edibles to be effective, it needs to be ground and decarboxylated. This activates the cannabinoids, which slowly absorb into your body as you digest the food. Effects will be felt for about 2-3 hours. The result of ingesting CBD through edibles will be less strong than inhaling the cannabinoids through smoking or vaping. This is because the CBD is being absorbed gradually, rather than all at once.

Do eat CBD edibles if you want a more long-lasting result.

Don’t eat CBD edibles if you want a stronger, more immediate effect.

Cannabis has been used in a myriad of ways throughout history and across the globe. It has been used for recreation, medicine and religion. While the first records of hemp’s medicinal uses can be traced back to China, there has been frequent reference to the plant and its various effects throughout Western history.

Cannabis in the Ancient World

Cannabis is directly or indirectly mentioned by the Egyptians, Greeks and Romans. The Ebers papyrus, written around 1500 BC in Egypt, is the world’s oldest medical book. The list of natural remedies includes a formula for menstrual cramps: cannabis was to be ‘ground in honey’ and applied ‘to cool the uterus and eliminate its heat’.

In the 1990s, it was discovered that the remains of mummified Egyptians contain significant amounts of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). The compound was detected in the remains of Ramses the Great, a Pharao in 1213 BCE, leading researchers to conclude that Pharaos smoked marijuana for ceremonial purposes.

Writers from ancient Greece also made mention of cannabis, with Homer describing a medication from the plains of Egypt. In the Odyssey, he writes of a drug that ‘dispels pain, calms anger, and makes men forgetful of troubles’.1 According to the story, Helen served the Egyptian medication to Greek soldiers who had painful memories of comrades killed in the Trojan War. There is debate about whether Homer is alluding to cannabis or Opium.

It is known, however, that the Scythians and Assyrians, cultures parallel to the Greek Empire, used cannabis. The Scythians reportedly took part in an early version of hot-boxing, inhaling smoke vapours from hemp plants in communal tents. The Assyrians, on the other hand, burned cannabis incense at funerals and in children’s rooms in order to ward off evil spirits. The Romans too alluded to uses of hemp for everything from making nets to consuming in small cakes.

The Rise and Fall of Cannabis in Modern Europe

Europeans rediscovered the many benefits of cannabis in the early 19th century. In the age of European colonialism and discovery, adventurers observed the use of hemp in India and the Middle East, and scholars translated Arabic medicinal books that referred to the plant.

Cannabis became popular in the UK, with Queen Victoria’s physician prescribing the medicine for menstrual cramps. The Queen reportedly took cannabis drops in small pieces of sugar or bread. Empress Elisabeth of Austria was also prescribed this medication for a recurrent cough, and to increase her appetite.

However, the use of cannabis for medicinal purposes went out of fashion just as quickly as it came into it. Firstly, it was displaced when newly discovered sedative drugs, such as aspirin, became popular. More importantly, the drug faced a political backlash from a prohibition-era international community.

An international drugs conference held in Geneva in 1928 saw the Egyptian delegation alleging that the plant was as dangerous as opium. Delegate Mohammed El Guindy argued that ‘Hashish addicts … are useless derelicts’.1 The use of Cannabis was officially on the out when The United Nations Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs placed marijuana under the strictest possible regime, along with cocaine and heroin.

After its long history and resulting prohibition in the West, the use of cannabis evokes a range of mixed sentiments. Recreational use of the plant has come to be associated with specific races and social classes, often for the purpose of re-enforcing discrimination and persecution of groups of people. However, perceptions are changing. Cannabis is now legal in 18 of America’s 50 states. In the UK, products that have the calming effect of plant, such as CBD oil or hemp oil, can be legally bought as food supplements.

We at Doctor Herb are passionate about providing high quality products for our customers. That means understanding every part of the CBD harvesting, extraction and production process. With our expert knowledge of CBD, we have optimised our methods in order to supply CBD flowers and resin in their most natural form. With over 20 years of experience in the cannabis industry, we are able to formulate our CBD products in a way that is non-toxic and environmentally friendly.

CBD Flowers and Resin- What are They?

The best CBD flowers and resins come from female hemp plants that have been specifically bred to contain high levels of cannabidiol and low levels of THC. Female plants are harvested specifically for their resin, which is considered to be the most valuable part of the plant.

CBD flowers have become popular because of how quickly they can deliver CBD to the brain and body. When you smoke CBD, it is released through your lungs, meaning the user will begin to feel the effect within minutes. Other CBD products, such as gummies, need to be broken down in the digestive system and liver, meaning it takes much longer for the user to feel an effect.

CBD resin is popular because of its natural strength and medicinal properties. The main non-psychoactive component of the hemp plant, CBD, is found in high concentrations in the resin. Flavonoids and terpenoids are also found here. These are flavour and aroma molecules, making the resin one of the most fragrant parts of the plant. Our resins come in a variety of flavours.

Supercritical CO2 Extraction Method

At Doctor Herb, we use the Supercritical CO2 Extraction Method in order to isolate the CBD from the hemp plant in a non-toxic and environmentally friendly way. The CO2 used for hemp extraction is collected and recycled after use. This method is the gold standard for CBD extraction, as it ensures that the final product contains no harmful solvents.

Third Party Testing

It is important to us that our customers trust our high quality products. For this reason, we carry out rigorous testing with established regulations so that we only stock the best. We aim to sell genuine quality without compromise.

Each of our products has been tested by a third-party lab, that is, an independent lab that has no affiliation with the CBD industry. This means you can be sure that the product you purchase has exactly what we claim within it and we can back that up with the lab reports from the tests done.

Third party labs carry out potency testing, terpene level testing and solvent contamination testing. They also test for safety too. This ensures that no moulds, pathogens, heavy metals or pesticides contaminate any of our products before or after they are made.

We have two core aims at Doctor Herb. The first is to supply our customers with the CBD products they desire. We are passionate about the nutritional and therapeutic benefits of hemp and we believe that everyone should have a chance to experience these benefits. The second is to provide high quality products that our customers can trust.

Nutritional and Therapeutic Benefits of CBD

There is evidence of humans using CBD for health and wellbeing purposes from the year 2737 BC. Known as the father of Chinese medicine, Emperor Shen-Nung is credited with having been the first person to experiment with the medicinal potential of cannabis. While it is contested whether the emperor was the true author, a book on the medicinal uses of the cannabis plant- including treatment of everything from menstrual pain to malaria- can be traced back to this period.

With the advancement of organic chemistry in the past 100 years, we are now much more able to identify the true effects of CBD. Studies have shown that cannabis has the potential to improve both physical and mental health.

Ingesting CBD can help to relieve chronic pain, as the compound interacts with the brain’s neurotransmitters and reduces inflammation. CBD has also been shown to decrease high blood pressure, a benefit that could reduce a person’s likelihood of suffering from a stroke or heart attack.

A 2021 study by The Journal of Cannabis Research revealed that the majority of CBD users in the UK (42.6% to be exact) use CBD for the relief of anxiety. Cannabis has been shown to provide relief from a wide range of mental disorders, from depression to PTSD. Compared to pharmaceutical treatments, CBD has relatively few side effects, causing many who suffer from mental health disorders to favour the natural remedy.

How We Can Help!

We at Doctor Herb are keen to make our contribution to the growing use of CBD in the health and wellness industry. To this end, we want to make sure everyone can access CBD in their desired form.

Studies have shown that vaping is the most effective way to consume CBD, as inhalation is the fastest way to deliver cannabinoids to your brain and body. We offer a range of vaping products, including e-liquid, hemp flower and resin. Our products come in a number of flavours so that anyone can find a taste to suit them.

While vaping is the best method of consuming CBD, we are aware that it is not the best fit for all our customers- and we aim to please! As well as our vaping products, we also offer CBD oils, teas and edibles. We have both natural and flavoured oils, and various gummies and teas for customers to try out.

Ensuring Quality and Inspiring Trust

We use a tried and trusted process, so that our customers can have faith in the products they are buying. We are partnered with certified farmers in Europe and USA and all our products are derived from 100% organic hemp grown under government licenses.

Our CBD e-liquid is formulated using only 100% natural terpenes, which have also been scientifically proven to contain therapeutic benefits. There is no artificial food flavouring in our products- just pure natural goodness!

All of our products have been produced using Supercritical CO2 extraction methods. They are then tested in a third-party lab to ensure that they have not been contaminated by moulds, pathogens, heavy metals or pesticides before or after they are made

As more and more people turn to CBD flowers, also known as hemp flower, for immediate calming and pain relief, it is currently in extremely high demand. After all, this is the cannabidiol (CBD) in its purest form before being extracted and used in various CBD products like oils and edibles. CBD flowers, like their renowned relative marijuana, have a strong "skunky" scent, according to some who have tried smoking them. That is absolutely possible. After all, both plants are members of the same plant family. But do they actually have the same smell? Let's check.

What is CBD or Cannabidiol?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of the many cannabinoids included in the cannabis plant, along with THC, the chemical we most often link with weed. People use CBD to reduce the symptoms of anxiety, pain, oedema, and other conditions. Alternative to conventional treatment, CBD is thought to improve both physical and mental health. It does not produce the same "high" feelings as marijuana. While marijuana has a significantly higher level of THC, CBD is derived from hemp plants, which only have a THC content of 0.3 per cent or less.

Because it is cannabis, CBD does indeed smell like weed. Contrary to popular opinion, neither hemp nor marijuana are real plants. None of the scientific fields, including botany and medicine, use these words. Cannabis flowers smells similar no matter which cannabinoid it contains. Cannabis is referred to as "hemp" when it has a THC content of less than 0.3 per cent because terpenes, not cannabinoids, are what give it its strong scent.

Cannabis smells slightly differently depending on the strain, and properly maintained buds are the only ones that retain their pleasant smell. Because of the terpenes it contains, CBD flowers have an extremely strong odour. Every cannabis strain's flower naturally contains terpenes and aromatic oils that can also be found in a wide variety of other plants. Every hemp strain includes dozens of different terpenes, each of which has its own unique aroma. These fragrant plant oils work together to give cannabis strains their unique flavours and smells.

Does CBD flower smell like marijuana?

Yes, by scent alone, CBD-rich hemp flowers can almost be mistaken for THC-rich marijuana. In fact, testing samples in a lab is the only way to distinguish between marijuana and hemp (apart from smoking it). These similarities can cause law enforcement officials to get confused, rewarding the discreet hemp smoker.

Does CBD flower taste good?

Yes, smoking or vaping CBD flower typically results in a nice taste. Your hemp flower will likely taste well if it smells good. Pay close attention to the exhalation to savour the complete flavour of your hemp flower. Doctor Herb is one of the leading companies in the UK that specialises in the highest quality of CBD flower products, hemp, flower, and CBD resin online at affordable prices, ensuring all the products are lab tested and provide complete peace of mind to customers. CBD Flower

The female hemp plant is known as the CBD flower. The bud or flower of the hemp flower releases cannabinoids (CBD) and resin when it is completely bloomed to entice pollen from the males and produce seed. Farmers start their plants indoors with hemp seeds that have been carefully developed to yield a sizable amount of CBD and very little THC in order to produce CBD flowers. In order for the female plant to spend all of its energy to produce the blossom, farmers remove the male plants. The CBD hemp flower, which is made up of a dense cluster of numerous tiny blooms growing side by side, is covered with a sticky substance that largely contains the CBD compound.

The plants are shifted outdoors in the soil rather than inside after they reach the vegetative stage, or around 12" tall, and grow in most climates. Hemp plants have a deep-rooted root system that prefers both warmth and sunlight. They are both thermophilic and heliotropic. The best places to produce CBD flowers have well-drained soil that is rich in organic matter but is not too soggy or weedy. Hemp has a 108–120 day growing cycle; thus, the best time to show it is after the final frost, normally in May and June, when the ambient temperature is around 50 degrees. Hemp plants are constantly watered over the first six weeks. After almost 100 days, the hemp plants, along with the CBD flowers, are harvested, dry, and cured.

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a natural element extracted from the hemp plant. It has been shown to have many medical benefits, but it does not get you high like THC. CBD may be used to treat a variety of medical conditions including pain, anxiety, and inflammation. CBD has been shown to reduce anxiety and depression, as well as relieve stress and help with mental or physical pain. It also has anti-inflammatory properties, which make it useful for treating chronic pain. CBD is a great way to combat seizures and other neurological conditions caused by trauma or illness. Studies show that CBD can also help with:

  1. Arthritis
  2. Multiple sclerosis (MS)
  3. Cancer
  4. Epilepsy/seizures

How does CBD work?

CBD works in many different ways. First off, it interacts with the body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS), which is an important group of receptors in the brain. These receptors trigger processes that affect mood and other functions, including pain management and sleep regulation. CBD also possesses powerful antioxidant properties as well as anti-inflammatory and anti-anxiety effects—all of which have been proven to help manage symptoms related to many conditions.

CBD has changed my life - feedback from our customers

"I had a car accident 2 years ago and ended up having arthritis and back and hip problems and now being able to walk properly. My joint pains and body aches became unbearable day by day; so much that doctors couldn't help me. So I started using Doctor Herb's medical products and they help me to ease the pain to a great extent."

"Doctor Herb's CBD medical products have helped me a lot to deal with anxiety and depression and I even feel a lot relaxed and control my short-temperedness. If you are looking for a way to reduce your anxiety or pain, I highly recommend trying CBD."

Out of the many components found in cannabis, CBD or cannabidiol seems to be gaining steady popularity. From gummy supplements to a CBD infused pillow, they're becoming ever-present in the market. And like every other popular product, CBD is also enveloped by a series of misconceptions. Because it is derived from cannabis, people believe that a continuous usage can lead to an addiction in the consumer as one of cannabis' counterparts- marijuana can be seriously addictive.

So, is CBD addictive? Let us dissect all the information we have.

Can you Develop a CBD Addiction?

Drug addiction is defined as the compulsive use of a drug and an inability to give up the drug despite its negative consequences.

CBD in itself is not an addiction inducing substance as it does not produce a high feeling after consumption, or in other words, it has no intoxicating effects on the person consuming it. In fact, in 2017, the World Health Organization also stated that CBD did not pose a threat as an addictive substance according to its performance in a well-controlled human experiment.

Another study showed that, unlike marijuana, CBD had no effects on a person's heart rate or blood pressure or produce any feelings of euphoria.

Another compound found in the cannabis plant- THC or tetrahydrocannabinol, is usually associated with the feel-good effect of marijuana and has substantial physical and cognitive effects on the consumer. However, it should be noted that some CBD products use a small and permitted amount of THC to help combat some serious issues.

Role of CBD in treating addiction

CBD is not only non-addictive but may even help treat drug addiction. There is evidence that CBD may lower the risk of cocaine and methamphetamine use disorders. The treatment can also help prevent relapses after a period of sobriety and detoxification.

According to a review of available pre-clinical and clinical data in 2015, it could be beneficial in treating tobacco and cannabis addiction. Furthermore, studies have linked it with the treatment of nicotine addiction as well.

Other benefits of CBD

In addition, CBD is also known to aid in the treatment of various health issues such as:

Helps Fight Anxiety

In many studies, researchers have found the potential benefits of CBD in treating anxiety disorders. Although, more scientific research is required consumers have found that the usage of CBD can help alleviate anxiety to a significant amount.

Reduces Inflammation

CBD may be anti-inflammatory and ant oxidative, which could aid in the treatment of diseases associated with oxidative stress.

Strengthens the immune system

Our immune system acts up, especially during the flu season. Studies have found that CBD may help balance and strengthen the immune system by activating TRPV2, a protein that helps cells communicate with each other, and plays a significant role in immune building.

The Bottom Line

CBD does not cause any kind of addiction; in fact, it can help in fighting various other drug addictions. CBD infused products and drops are completely safe and legal to use however, a little test run with small amounts of doses is always recommended.

Can l use CBD flowers for anxiety?

With more science and anecdotal evidence being offered all the time, CBD is becoming extremely popular for its potential medicinal benefits. CBD is well-known for its soothing properties, which means it can be beneficial to people who suffer from social anxiety. With its quick absorption, CBD-rich hemp flower is a promising therapy option.

Do you have a deep fear of being judged by others? Is it hard for you to do simple things like talking to a cashier or speaking in class because of your anxiety? If this is the case, you may be suffering from social anxiety disorder (SAD), which is characterised by a chronic fear of being observed and judged by others. A person with SAD may also over analyze social situations afterwards, searching for ways to disgrace oneself. Their physical symptoms can increase their anxiety since they are concerned that others will notice them blushing or their trembling voice. They avoid doing or speaking things they would ordinarily do or say because they are afraid of embarrassing themselves. A person who suffers from social anxiety may not be able to reach their complete potential.

What is CBD and how can it help?

Cannabidiol CBD is a form of cannabinoid, which means it's a naturally occurring substance found in cannabis plants. CBD and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) are the two most well-known and prominent cannabinoids, though they act differently in the human endocannabinoid system. THC is the psychoactive component that makes you high, whereas CBD is not. These cannabinoids are found in both hemp and marijuana plants. Marijuana is the total opposite of hemp, which has a low THC content and a high CBD content. CBD has various advantages and can be used to treat several medical ailments, including but not confined to:

  1. Inflammation
  2. Anxiety and depression
  3. Chronic pain
  4. Autoimmune disorders
  5. Neurological conditions
  6. Insomnia

CBD helps the human endocannabinoid system, which maintains homeostasis and impacts nervous and immunological systems to perform better. CBD, like SSRIs (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors) works by blocking the breakdown of endocannabinoids. This allows the chemicals that tell your body to act (like relax) to have more of an effect.

What about CBD flowers?

Although many CBD products have calming and relaxing properties, inhaling them through smoking or vaping is the quickest way to feel the effect. While smoking CBD flowers, the cannabinoid enters your circulation immediately, letting you feel the effects much more quickly. This simple method is helpful for people who have social anxiety. However we at Doctor Herb do not recommend smoking the CBD flowers this way due to the increased risk of introducing carcinogens into the body.

You are not alone if you suffer from social anxiety. Consult your doctor about anxiety medications, including CBD treatment. What are CBD Flowers?

There's a lot of demand for legal cannabis all over the country, and using this non-psychoactive version of cannabis to relieve stress is a great method to do so. Learn everything you need to know about CBD flowers in this post.

CBD flowers

CBD flowers, CBD flowers, also known as hemp flowers or even CBD buds, are produced by female hemp plants. The female plant spends more energy-producing flowers coated in sticky compounds known as trichomes as it matures and starts the flowering stage of its lifecycle. Consider it the all-natural Velcro of nature. These trichomes, which contain CBD and other cannabinoids, are developed to capture airborne pollen shed by male hemp plants in the air.

Never pollinating female hemp plants tend to have more trichomes, which means they produce more of the desired cannabinoids. These seedless hemp plants produce CBD flowers, which are dried, cured, afterwards and supplied and sold as smokable flowers.

What are CBD Flowers?

Are CBD Flowers Legal?

With a few exceptions, across many states in the US, yes. Hemp is defined as cannabis containing less than 0.3 per cent THC" under the 2018 Farm Bill, and it is no longer classified as a Schedule 1 restricted narcotic substance by the DEA. Hemp is officially regarded as an agricultural product by the federal government, and certain products, such as CBD flowers, are now legally allowed. Apart from production, CBD flower products can be processed, sold, and transported legally. (Providing your seller has the necessary documents!)

Some states have decided that CBD flower sales are no longer permitted within their borders. However, this does not prevent businesses from delivering hemp to people in that state. It is the buyer's responsibility to ensure compliance once the product has been delivered.

What Do CBD Flowers Do?

While most research is still in its early stages, a growing community of individuals with anecdotal evidence claims that CBD flowers may assist them to manage:

  1. Sleep
  2. Appetite
  3. Anxious feelings
  4. Pain caused by arthritis
  5. Number and severity of seizures

Are There Side Effects When Using CBD Flowers?

CBD has been proven to be non-toxic to humans, even when used in high doses. There have been no reports of CBD-related deaths, and the Department of Health and Human Services states that there are no signs of toxicity with long-term CBD use.

In humans, CBD shows no effects any misuse or dependence potential - says the World Health Organization. So, while CBD isn't harmful or addictive to people, it does have a few minor adverse effects.

The adverse effects of CBD use are discussed in a 2017 issue of Cannabis and Cannabinoid Research. Among the most common are:

  1. Nausea feeling
  2. Mood changes and anxiety feeling
  3. Dry mouth and red eyes

  • Premium CBD oil drops

Although vaping is one of the best ways to consume CBD, it is not for everyone. Our mission to make CBD available to anyone who needs it, in whatever form they might like, is what drove us to come up with the best quality full-spectrum CBD oil drops.

Out of all the ingestible CBD products, CBD oil with fatty acids will increase the efficiency without the need to inhale it.

After getting ingested, CBD oil is absorbed by the digestive system. The hepatic portal veins carry the compounds from the stomach to the liver. Another way of increasing the efficiency of oil drops is to hold them under your tongue for about 60 seconds before ingesting which will help in the quick absorption of the compounds by the mucous membrane.

Our premium CBD oil tincture drops are nutrient-rich for added benefits. To help you measure the intake, all our tinctures come with measurement marks on the pipettes.

  • Broad Spectrum CBG Oil Drops:

CBG gives birth to all the cannabinoids, including the well-known ones THC, CBD, and CBC. In the flowering phase of CBG, the enzymes in the cannabis plant break it down to either one of them. CBG can only be extracted at the very early stages of the plant, as once the plant has matured, the CBG breaks down to very low amounts. Extracting CBG from cannabis is a very tedious activity and takes plenty of time. But a lot of scientific research has shown the tremendous potential of CBG in fighting many medical problems.

With the ultimate goal of providing customers with the maximum benefits of the full spectrum cannabinoids, we produce all our products using the gold standard, supercritical CO2 extraction method. Our products reach you only after going through third-party lab testing done in a dedicated cannabis testing facility.

Over the past few years, CBD has gained immense popularity due to its many potential benefits. Believed to provide relief from various diseases such as arthritis, depression, epilepsy and more, this natural herb is one of the many compounds extracted from the cannabis plant. In contrast to its psychoactive counterpart (THC), CBD does not induce a high state and is known for its calming properties. CBD is said to have many therapeutic, pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effects on the human body.

What is CBD?

CBD is one of the most popular CANNABINOIDS present in the cannabis plant along with THC. CBD and THC have very similar properties, however CBD is non psychoactive. Countless studies have been conducted about CBD and its soaring popularity has made it the most sought-after herb among people suffering from ailments.

Is it legal to consume CBD?

Although an extensive majority of cannabinoids come under the list of controlled substances under the misuse of drugs act, CBD is an exception to it. Despite the confusion around it, it is entirely legal in the UK under the condition that it should have emanated from an industrial hemp strain and must have no THC.

People who use CBD swear by its many health benefits so we've rounded up some of the health troubles CBD can help relieve:

Mental health Issues: In a study, it was found that every 1 in 4 people was suffering from some form of mental health issue. The over the counter medicines generally used to treat their symptoms do more harm than good. Unlike them, CBD has negligible side effects as it is derived naturally. With people getting more aware of the side effects of generic pharmaceutical drugs, they're swaying towards more organic forms of treatment.

Research has suggested that CBD has positive effects on the brain's serotonin reception. It does not increase the quantity of serotonin instead, it influences the receptors to react a certain way to the existing dopamine. This has linked CBD as the possible treatment of anxiety and depression.

Relieved chronic pain: Studies have also linked CBD with the treatment of chronic pains and inflammation. It was found that the CBD's interaction with the receptors within the brain can significantly alter pain perception. CBD may help in alleviating chronic illnesses such as Arthritis, Neuropathic pain and more.

Relieves Insomnia: Excessive use of technology, staying glued to our screens all day and a sedentary lifestyle has adversely affected our sleep cycle and people now have trouble falling asleep which is a widespread issue these days. A recent study has shown that CBD might help improve the condition of sleep. The participants involved in the study experienced a good sleep score which signals a probable breakthrough in the medical industry.

Treatment for drug addiction: People who get addicted to drugs develop a dependency upon them to function properly. Their brain sends signals demanding drugs, and if the demand is not fulfilled they start acting in a strange way. CBD can help minimise the dependency on drugs and may assist the brain circuits facilitating the addiction. CBD also does not induce a high state, so it’s safe for people with a history of drug abuse.

Epilepsy: Although more research is needed in the area concerning CBD in Epilepsy, the existing research has shown a promising effect of CBD in the reduction of seizures in 1 in 8 people by 50% or more. CBD has a lot of potential in the medical area.

Helpful in diabetes: Our pancreatic beta cells are severely harmed by a condition called Insulitis which also causes Type 1 diabetes. CBD may help in preventing insulitis which, in turn, may help in preventing diabetes too. For people already suffering from diabetes, CBD can help lower the side effects of the disease like memory deficits and neuroinflammation.

The bottom line

Although the research being conducted on CBD is still in its infancy, we cannot disregard its potential health benefits. It can be a non-toxic option for managing anxiety, insomnia, chronic pains and more. With so many vendors in the market, it becomes tough to try and find a reliable one. At doctor herb, we believe in delivering quality and all our products are derived from 100% organic hemp grown under government licenses. Head over to our website to browse our products.
